I’m Darlene Sullivan, the self-taught artist behind Best Friend Custom Art. For 34 years, I taught elementary music, sharing the joy of creativity and expression with children every day. When the world slowed down during the Covid shutdown, I picked up a set of colored pencils — and discovered a new way to make art sing. What began as a quiet pastime soon became a passion for capturing the personalities and spirit of the pets we love so deeply.

I’m blessed with a wonderfully supportive husband, three grown children, a great son-in-law and one big, gentle Newfiepoo named Molly, who keeps me company in the studio while I draw. Through my work, I hope to bring warmth, comfort, and joy to fellow pet lovers — creating drawings that keep the memory of their best friends alive in color and heart.
